The WV Symphony is committed to highlighting influential composers, some who have been neglected in the American classical music tradition. Our concert is curated to celebrate these influential composers of color–male and female, living and dead—whose music deserves to be honored and performed. Always part of the fabric of our American musical tradition, we hope by celebrating these contributions we foster the opportunity for conversations about ending discrimination on the grounds of race.
