Young People’s Concert Series (Recommended Grades: 6-12)

Explore how three separate composers (Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, and Bernstein) have treated the Shakespearian story of Romeo and Juliet so differently in their orchestral works. Many students will especially identify with Bernstein’s West Side Story, a modern re-casting of this timeless romantic tragedy.

 9:45 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. (concerts last one hour each)

Cost:  $4 per student; free for teachers/chaperones within 10:1 ratio; $4 for any non-students above the 10:1 ratio.

Curriculum Materials:  Upon registration, you will receive free multimedia CD-ROMs produced by the WVSO to prepare for your concert experience.
